"Any questions, Dylan?"

"Yes, just one, Dr. Amber.  Why are we first year medical school students only allowed to dissect cadavers?"

"It dramatically decreases the odds of you getting sued for malpractice."

"Um..I knew that!"

"Ryan, you're cool and everything, and I like that you're hangin'
out with me, but let's get one thing perfectly clear."

"Yeah?  What's that, Dyl?"

"I'M Batman!"

FIRST HAWAIIAN SETTLERS

Ryan and Dylan
Paddleboarding the Anahola River

Theory has it that the Hawaiian Islands were first settled by a group of bold and adventuresome seafarers from the Marquesas Islands.

While the flotilla of canoes wait outside of the breakwater, a brave advance team of scouts reconnoiter the area by paddleboarding up a river passageway...

HEY, IS THERE A BULLSEYE ON MY BASEBALL CAP?

Ryan and friend on Mt. Bishop,
San Luis Obispo, CA

Dude, I don't know what I did to tick that hawk off, but he sure is intent on dropping a load on me.

DON'T YOU DARE STEREOTYPE ME!

Parrot in Belize

Put that cracker away, Mister!

I am sick and tired of you tourists thinking that all I eat is crackers!

And don't you dare call me Polly, either!

My name happens to be Horatio!

And Horatio craves MEAT!  Yeah, that's right!  Red, bloody meat!  I don't care what kind, either!  Give me beef, give me pork, give me fish...heck, give me exotic flesh like sting ray, crocodile, or Komodo dragon!

JUST GIVE ME MEAT!

I crave it!

What?  You don't have any meat?

Hmm...

You know, in that light, you're looking kinda good!

In fact, you're starting to look really prime and juicy!

Hey, where you goin'?  Come back here!  I'm not done with you yet!

Ah, so much for that...

Now where did I stash that package of dried cuttlefish?

THE BASICS

Ryan

So, let's review the first safety rule...

That's right--while riding your bicycle underwater, come up for air at regular intervals.

Okay, listen up!

Here's the second rule:

Before coming up for air, BE SURE TO FIRST DISENGAGE FROM THE BICYCLE!

Young people, you'd be surprised to know the stats--over half of the underwater bicycling fatalities across the nation were the result of athletes forgetting this very important second step.
